We, the parishioners of St. Michael the Archangel, are a diverse
Catholic community dedicated to living the Gospel through the
active celebration of the sacraments, lifelong faith formation
and a continuing commitment to our neighbors.
In 2013, Archbishop Tobin launched the Connected in the Spirit process in Indianapolis, forming cohorts of two to five parishes, asking each to begin looking at ways they could work together in a spirit of common mission to serve the Catholic community of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. St. Monica is in Cohort 13 working together with St. Michael’s and St. Gabriel’s. After about a year of work by our planning team, the next step was to create an Implementation Team, which includes the priests, one staff member, one parish council member, and parishioners from each parish.
Together, our cohort has established four goals. One of the first goals was for our parish priests to work together to coordinate masses so parishioners have multiple options for mass times and our priests have ample coverage when needed.
