¨ Birth Line - Provides support to underprivileged women and babies; provide crisis pregnancy intervention through a hotline

¨ Gabriel Project - Provides pastoral response, educational and evangelical outreach to women experiencing difficult pregnancies in conjunction with the pro-life office

¨ Pro-Life -  Spreads the Gospel of Life in its fullness through evangelization and education aimed to preserve the dignity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death

¨ Sponsor Couples - Mentor engaged couples planning to get married at St. Michael through their spiritual preparation for the sacrament of Matrimony

¨ St. Vincent de Paul - Provides food, clothing, limited financial help and referrals for services to those in need


¨ Coffee and Donuts - Sundays after 9:00 a.m or 11:00. Mass in  Kavanagh Hall   Check bulletin for schedule

¨ CYO - Youth Sports program

¨ Euchre Party - Once a month in the Parish Life Center - see the bulletin or website for details

¨ Event Planning - Help plan and organize Feast Day celebrations, day trips, ministry fairs and other special events in the parish

¨ Hospitality
- Register and greet new parishioners, make phone calls, mentor and acclimate new parishioners to the parish

¨ Supper Club - Gets together generally once a month at area restaurants to share food, fellowship and fun with other parishioners.  



Ministries and opportunities


¨ Adult Bible Study - Meets on  Sundays at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish Life Center
¨ Children’s Liturgy of the Word - Sundays during 11:00 a.m. Mass   Leaders lead children ages 4-8 in reading, reflecting, and in praying the Word of God.

¨ Confirmation Moderators - Spiritually prepare young people for the sacrament of Confirmation by planning and guiding them through the confirmation process 

¨ Faith Formation Classes, Grades K- 8 - Held Sundays at 10:00 a.m. during the school year in the Parish Life Center  Catechists needed to help with classes

¨ Faith Formation/Youth Commission - The Youth Commission aims to develop programs for youth that provide faith formation and social interaction through catechesis as well as retreat opportunities, service outreach and social events.

¨ High School Youth Ministry - Meets on the first and third Sunday of each month at 12:00 p.m. 

¨ Junior High Youth Ministry - Meets on every Thursday from 3-4:00  when school is in session

¨¨ RCIA - Religious formation and guidance aimed at training those adults seeking baptism or those Christians of other traditions who would like to be in  full communion with the Catholic Church.  Assistants are needed to help the Catechumens to live the Catholic Christian faith.

¨ RCIA for Children - provides children the same formation given adults, but adapted for children ages 7-17 who wish to become Catholic 

¨ Altar Servers - Assist the priest and other ministers by serving Mass.  Open to boys and girls, 5th grade and older.  Training starts in the Fall

¨ Altar Society - Clean and maintain the sacristy, altar and baptismal area, clean and polish the sacred vessels and take care of the sacred linens

¨ Cantors - Lead and engage the congregation in liturgical songs of praise and worship

¨ Instrumentalist - Provide music and accompaniment during the liturgy and special services

¨ Environment Committee - Decorate the worship spaces to enhance the liturgical life of the parish

¨ Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - Assist the priest with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass and bring the Holy Eucharist to the ill and homebound  

¨ Greeters - Open the doors and greet all who come to worship; assist in tidying the church after Mass

¨ Lectors - Proclaim the Scripture readings of the day during Mass

¨ Mercy Meals - Prepare meals for funeral luncheons  

¨ Perpetual Adoration - Commit time in adoration of the exposed Blessed Sacrament at the Divine Mercy Chapel, 3356 W. 30th Street, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  If you are able to commit one hour a week in adoration.

¨ Prayer Shawl & Rosary Ministry - Meets the first Wednesday of each month  to make Prayer Shawls, blankets and rosaries for those that are ill or suffering and blankets for those to be baptized  

¨ Usher - Assist in greeting and seating people.  Take up collections, direct worshipers during communion, count attendees at Mass, distribute bulletins and assist with tidying the church after Mass I

¨ Women’s Prayer Group - Meets Mondays at 7:00  p.m. in the Parish Life Center
